Some memories get frozen in time thanks to a lucky snapshot. This was one of them. Washington, DC, summer of 2018. It was absolutely broiling hot. Touring the outside monuments was not going to happen. Instead, we did the museums. A family trip.
We only had to walk about a block to the Natural History Museum. Birdie, aged one and a half, did not want to be in the stroller. So she took off walking, and just as she caught up to her Grampa, I took this shot. They look like twin trekkers. Miss Birdie looks so independent and full of bravado. Every time I look at this, my heart swells.
Family. Moments to remember always.
